Brothers Adrian and Michael Daniel have been running London's most
successful vegetarian restaurant since December 1989.
When Adrian, aged 17, announced to his mother
that he was going to be vegetarian, she cried: "What are you
going to eat? You don't even like vegetables". After a year
of pizza and chips Adrian decided he'd better learn to cook. His
Indo-Iraqi Jewish Grandmother served as inspiration - as children
the brothers confess to being obsessed by her cooking and recall
that even her most simple breakfasts would illicit passionate admiration.
Adrian's approach to cooking is an eclectic one - drawing on a wide
range of ethnic cuisines, selecting the best combinations and creating
dishes that have earned him a reputation as one of London's finest
vegetarian chefs.
